Syrian men under 42 banned from leaving Syria without special permit
The Syrian authorities issued a decision to ban Syrian men between 18 and 42 years old from traveling before receiving the approval of the recruitment division, according to “Al Eqtisadiah” website, citing well-informed sources.

The website added that the authorities started to implement this decision at border crossings where around half of the passengers on the Aleppo-Algeria flight were included in this decision and returned to Syria. Travelers entering Lebanon through the Jdeidet Yabous border crossing also said travelers were returned for the same reason, without specifying exactly when this happened.

This decision impacted the Masnaa border crossing that witnessed light movement from and to Syria; the traffic decreased by 60% according to officials at the crossing.

Meanwhile, travelers coming from inside Syria said that the decision is related to the issue of mandatory military service known as the “flag service”.
