MP Strida Geagea to Raad: Geagea does not need to be ranked by anyone

Lebanese Forces MP Strida Geagea said on Saturday that positions voiced by President Michel Sleiman and PM Najib Mikati and the clear stance taken by Interior Minister Marwan Charbel as well as the serious concerns shown by Army Commander Jean Kahwaji and judiciary and security apparatuses prove the gravity of the attack against the party leader Samir Geagea and constitute by themselves an irrefutable response to the recent remarks made by Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc leader MP Mohammad Raad who said that some are seeking to blow certain  issues out of proportion and fabricate incidents in order to divert attention from the national higher interest.            
“What is very regrettable is the low level that political interaction has reached, regardless the dispute and differences in positions. Had I personally known that any attempted attack targeted Hezbollah Leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah I would have been the first to denounce and condemn [the attack]. MP Raad should know that even if the killing and assassination strategy has so far only targeted March 14 figures, it might one day shift to another party; and we will be then the first to denounce it,” Geagea said in a statement.       

In her concluding remarks, MP Strida Geagea said that the LF leader does not need to be ranked by anyone since he has gone beyond national and regional dimensions and “he no longer dwells in the 3rd underground floor under the ministry of justice.”
