Qaroun lake sees a rise in water levels, precautions taken

The "National Interest of the Litani River" released a statement on Tuesday whereby it declared that the water level in the Qaraoun Lake saw a rise due to the torrential rains and added that it will be taking precautionary measures to avoid flooding.

The statement called on citizens to keep a distance from the stream of the Litani River starting from the town of Sohmor in the Bekaa toward the Qasmiyeh river and passing through the following towns: Yohmor, Zalaya, Dimashqiah, al-Khardali, Kfarsir, Zrabieh, and Qasmiyeh.

It is worth noting that the statement mentioned that the "National Interest of the Litani River" will start opening the valves of the Qaraoun Lake as of the 18th of January 15, 2013.
