London to expel Russian defense attache on espionage charges

British Home Secretary James Cleverly announced Wednesday that Britain would expel the Russian defense attache in the country, whom London described as an "undeclared military intelligence officer."

In a statement before Parliament focused on "malign activity" attributed to Russia, the Home Secretary also stated that several Russian properties on British soil, suspected by London of being used "for intelligence purposes," would lose their diplomatic status.
