REPORT: Final report in Ella Tannous’ case says several sides share responsibility

With a report of 220 pages the medical committee tasked with looking into the case of Ella Tannous concluded its duty.

Sources told LBCI that the report, which was submitted to Beirut’s Order of Physicians and the investigative judge, says that “accumulated errors led to the amputation of the child’s limbs,” stressing that the hospitals, to which Ella was admitted and the physicians who checked her are all responsible for the situation, adding that the Health Ministry also shares the responsibility.

On another note, the parents of Ella Tannous have not yet received the said report.

In this regard, judicial sources told LBCI that Beirut Investigative Judge George Rizk will hand over the report to the child’s parents on Monday.

A doctor reportedly misdiagnosed the case of Ella Tannous, leading to amputating her four limbs.
