Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's political advisor Hajj Hussein al-Khalil declared Saturday that Hezbollah will not attend the parliamentary session intended to elect a new president and scheduled for February 08.
Following a meeting with MP Michel Aoun at his Rabieh residence on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of signing the agreement between the parties, al-Khalil stressed that MP Aoun will remain Hezbollah’s first candidate for the presidency, noting that his party will attend the electoral session once the appropriate conditions for his elections will be ensured.
He also pointed out that the agreement between the Free Patriotic Movement and the Lebanese Forces in Maarab is “the right plan for a long journey ahead,” hoping that such agreements will be prevail among all the parties, not only the Christians.
