Scuffles erupt in Naameh and Harat al-Naam, election process temporarily halted in Tertej

Two scuffles erupted Sunday in the town of Naameh and its Harat al-Naameh suburb, leading to the brief closure of two polling stations.

In Jbeil, a verbal clash took place between former Minister Charbel Nahas and local contenders from a rival list.

Head of one of the incomplete electoral lists Joseph Al-Ashqar opposed Mayor and Head of the complete electoral list kablan Al-Ashqar’s entry to the school’s administration room in Dbayeh to rest, thus causing a small dispute.

Security forces quickly interfered and ended the quarrel.

This as a spat broke out in a polling station in Afqa and al-Laqlouq.

Meanwhile in Tertej, the election process was temporarily halted after a dispute broke out.

Another scuffle took place after electoral lists were distributed before Zouk’s polling center, security forces asked that commissaries to leave the place.
