Geagea: A highly professional party stands behind the attempt to assassinate me

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea criticized the behavior of the majority regarding the assassination attempt that targeted him. “This camp denied the incident, and pressured President Michel Sleiman to make him think he cannot be biased to one party”, he said.        

Geagea told AFP on Thursday that he regrets the absence of humanitarian sense and political ethics required in this kind of situations by both Hezbollah and the head of the Change and Reform bloc General Michel Aoun. “They could have made a statement condemning the assassination attempt instead of denying it”, he said, praising the statement issued by the popular bloc of Zahle to condemn the assassination attempt.          

“I have my own doubts, but I prefer to be practical and let investigations take their course; however, I think that I can determine the perpetrator based on the nature of the assassination”, he said adding that the party behind the assassination attempt is very professional, has capacities, an important freedom of movement and coverage.        

“If we gather all these information, we can guess the perpetrators who I leave o investigations; this attempt is part of a series of attempts”, he said.
