Fireworks launched across Lebanese regions to celebrate election of Aoun as president

Celebratory fireworks were launched into the Lebanese sky across the regions right after head of the Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun was declared new president of the republic.

The logistical preparations had been completed at the central headquarters of the Free Patriotic Movement in the region of Mirna Chalouhy to receive supporters and activists to follow-up on the elections of the head of the Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun as president.

A large screen was set up inside the headquarters and outside to watch the electoral session.

In this context, FPM’s Coordinator of lawyers Youssef Salameh told LBCI that “today is the day all the Lebanese people have been waiting for.”

In the Hadath region, the preparations were also completed, where screens were set up to watch the electoral process and a ceremony is set to held right after the announcement, with the participation of several Lebanese singers.

For his part, member of the Change and Reform bloc MP Hekmat Dib expected that MP Aoun will receive two-thirds of the votes in the first round.

In Haret Hreik, MP Aoun’s hometown, the residents are also preparing to celebrate Aoun’s election as president.

Preparations are also taking place in Jounieh, Jbeil and Batroun to celebrate the election.
