After facing many accusations by United Nations institutions concerned with human rights of carrying out systematic torture practices against detainees by some security apparatuses, Lebanon decided to amend the Penal Code and the Code of Criminal Procedure.
In its latest session, the parliament passed the draft law proposed by MP Ghassan Mkheiber that includes punishing torture practices as well as other forms of treatments.
