BYBLOS BANK RANKED MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA’S 3RD MOST EFFECTIVE FINANCIAL SERVICES BRAND AND MARKETER
Byblos Bank Headquarters, September 2 2018: Byblos Bank announced that it has been named Middle East and Africa’s 3rd most effective financial services brand and marketer in the 2018 Global Effie Effectiveness Index.

Identifying and ranking the marketing communications industry's most effective agencies, marketers and brands by analyzing finalist and winner data from 40+ worldwide Effie Award competitions, the Global Effie Effectiveness Index is produced annually since it was launched in 2011. The 2018 rankings reflect a compilation of over 3,400 worldwide Effie winners and finalists announced between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017. Every brand and company ranked in the Effie Index has undergone rigorous evaluations of their case studies and work by expert industry judges to prove that their marketing achieved compelling results.

By ranking 3rd, both as a Financial Services Brand and a Financial Services Marketer of the year, Byblos Bank has proven the success of its creative marketing strategies in the region and in the world on the most reputed platform for effectiveness. It is also the only Lebanese financial service company to be included in the Index, coming ahead of renowned global brands Mastercard, Visa and Citibank and behind only Emirates NBD from the UAE and EGBank from Egypt.

Commenting on the results, Nada Tawil, Head of Group Communication Department at Byblos Bank, said, “We couldn’t be prouder that Byblos Bank, through innovation, strategy and communications excellence, is reaping the third position regionally. Byblos Bank is actually setting a benchmark about the best and most robust brands that are built coherently and consistently within an all-inclusive communication approach.”

Emile Atallah, who leads the FP7/LEVANT operation and is MD of FP7/Beirut, the lead agency for Byblos Bank, said, “Maintaining a cohesive brand is the most critical thing, but with a client like Byblos Bank, it’s a lot easier. As an agency client relationship, we spend most of our time understanding what the brand stands for, and work hand in hand to achieve our goals, be it business or brand building.”

Tahaab Rais, Regional Head of Strategy at FP7/MENA, commented, “Recognition for effectiveness is not easy. It takes deep problem solving, rich insights, enviably outstanding ideas and executions, and importantly, results that matter. The fact that Byblos Bank has shone globally and regionally speaks volumes about their ambition, their intent and their impeccable implementation as marketers. We’re proud to partner with them.”

“Byblos Bank launched several campaigns that resulted in unprecedented levels of customer engagement and received highly favorable feedbacks. These campaigns are examples of strategic communication, creativity and media strategies”, said Maïa Maatalani Fayad, Head of Group Marketing Communication at Byblos Bank.

This being the results of years of consistently delivering intelligent and effective marketing campaigns, Byblos Bank promises to not stop here, but to continue delivering great work and proudly represent Lebanon and the region as a whole.
