Speaker Nabih Berri stressed that everyone must present concessions without exceptions, in order to form the cabinet and serve the interest of the country.
During Wednesday’s deputies gathering, Berri said that Lebanon “is in intensive care and it does not resembles Turkey or Iran,” adding that the economic situation is “very dangerous.”
Addressing another issue, Berri tackled the available information on Israel working to intensifying petroleum activities near the borders with Lebanon, particularly in Karish field and Israel’s partnering with a Greek company to kick off exploration in March 2019.
Berri stressed the need for the Lebanese state to take action quickly in order to prevent any violation against the Lebanese sovereignty, noting that he will hold talks with the ministries of economy and foreigh affairs.
In a related context, the speaker expected that President Michel Aoun would address the parliament in the issue of the cabinet formation, pointing out that the legislative session is not related to the governmental issue.
