How many Lebanese nationals fought in Syria and what was their fate?

The Tripoli events of Monday night re-opened the case of the Lebanese individuals who fought in Syria and returned to Lebanon.

 

A poll conducted on the number of Lebanese individuals who fought in Syria with the Islamic State and al-Nusra Front shows that their number reached 950 Lebanese national during the years of the Syrian crisis.

 

250 of them were killed in the battles in Syria, 280 are still in Syria or at least did not return to Lebanon, and around 420 individuals returned to Lebanon.

 

Out of the 420, 220 remain in prison while the rest did their time and were released.
