Former Minister Sejaan Azzi said Monday that the dispute between the Kataeb party and the Lebanese Forces is personal and misplaced.
In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, Azzi pointed out that he stands against this dispute, calling on both parties to deploy efforts to reunite and become allies.
Commenting on Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s speech on Ashoura Day, the former minister said “either we are only Lebanese or we are sharing out nationality, which reconsiders the extent of loyalty to Lebanon.”
In the same context, he noted that the gravity of the speech lies in the timing, that came during a time of demographic and systems changes.
“Nasrallah’s statements do not go in line with belonging to the Lebanese entity and toppled the army, people and resistance equation,” he added.
On the issue of the Syrian refugees, Azzi warned against failure to grant importance for the statement of US official David Schenker in this regard during his recent visit to Beirut, pointing out that Washington cannot be a friendly state to Lebanon without helping in this issue.
