In the presence of the Greek and Cypriot Ambassadors to Lebanon Catherine Bora, and Homer Mavrommatis as well as the General Director of Electricité du Liban, Kamal Hayek and other EDL officials, Caretaker Energy Minister Gebran Bassil signed on Friday a contract with the Greek Cypriot Company JPAVAX to set up a power plant in Deir Ammar, North of Lebanon.

In this context, Minister Bassil thanked the World Bank for supervising the tender procedures stressing that the importance of this power plant is that it works on 3 types of fuel oils.

Bassil said that the tender, which was carried out on the basis of world standards, won the attention of the world's largest companies adding that the power plant will be built during a maximum period of 25 months.
