Secretary General of the Higher Relief Committee Maj. Gen. Mohamed Kheir declared that that the Guinean authorities officially informed him that the body found on the bank of the river in Conakry belongs to the Lebanese man Hussein Fachikh, who drowned in the river while attempting to save two people.
Kheir added that, in accordance with the instruction of Prime Minister Saad Hariri, he will continue his contacts with the authorities in Guinea in order to take the necessary procedures to return the young man’s body to Lebanon as soon as possible, expressing gratitude to the authorities in Guinea for the efforts exerted to locate the body.
He also extended his condolences to the family of Hussein Fachikh.
