Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai addressed officials and politicians on Sunday, asking them not to disappoint the Lebanese people again and not to force them to return to the roads and squares.
“The people demand a neutral government of Lebanese figures known for their moral values, great achievements and freedom from the sectarian spirit and political affiliation,” Rai said during Sunday Mass service in Bkerke.
Addressing the Lebanese youth, he called on them to "reject any alignment that undermines unity, and to act with wisdom and discernment towards all those incite sectarian divisions.”
"The dignity of Lebanon, its independence and sovereignty, are above all else," the Patriarch concluded.
