REPORT: Hezbollah and FPM start work on helping refugees return

Within around two weeks, Hezbollah opened nine offices located in South Lebanon, Bekaa and Beirut’s southern suburb to help the refugees return to Syria.

The offices receive refugees who fill out applications that will be in turn sent to the Syrian authorities, and when they receive back the approval, coordination starts with the Lebanese General Security.

In turn, the Free Patriotic Movement itself formed committees tasked with regulating the return process for the refugees wishing to go back to their country.

These committees include members from the FPM and civil society organizations and they coordinate with the municipalities of the hosting town to survey the refugees and learn about their issues before raising them to the Lebanese General Security.
