March 14 General Secretariat fears attempts to label Beirut Airport as unsafe

The March 14 General Secretariat voiced deep concern that the International Community may label the Beirut International Airport as unsafe, calling for a national stand in order to end the current standoff.

The Secretariat also expressed fear that the region of Bekaa may be dragged into sectarian strife in light of the recent kidnappings and violent outbreaks in the area.

Following its weekly meeting, the General Secretariat also called on Lebanese citizens who are "adamant on Lebanon’s peace and stability", to stand against the current conflicts and support the Lebanese state.

Separately, the Secretariat said that “unrest in Lebanon has increased after Hezbollah announced its involvement in the Syrian crisis,” warning that the security incidents in the country may lead to civil war.
