MP Zahra: Hezbollah’s intervention in Syria led to Lebanon’s deteriorating situation

Lebanese Forces Deputy Antoine Zahra said Friday that all Lebanese citizens denounced the explosion that targeted Beirut’s Southern Suburbs on Thursday, and called for showing humanitarian, national and social responsibility to realize that “Lebanese security apparatuses are responsible of the citizens’ security.”

MP Zahra told LBCI during Nharkom Said that “self-security proved its failure in maintaining the people’s safety”, calling on security apparatuses to carry out their duties while adhering to the Baabda Declaration.

Zahra added that such security breaches reached an end following the Taif Agreement; however, “Hezbollah’s intervention in the Syrian crisis led to the current deterioration in the security situation.”

“Following Hezbollah’s participation in the Syrian crisis, Lebanon became favorable hub for carrying out such bombing operations due to the rising tensions on the streets,” MP Zahra concluded.
