Syrian worker falls in 6-meter reservoir in Ballouneh

Syrian worker Ibrahim Mashham fell on Tuesday in a 6-meter reservoir in a construction site in the region of Ballouneh.

Mashham, who sustained fractures, was taken by Civil Defense members to the St. Georges hospital in Ajaltoun.

Laborious working conditions have become the standard norm to many Syrian refugees desperate for employment in the country where safety standards are dismissed as necessary in many construction sites.

Nearly all foreign laborers are denied healthcare and insurance services on site.
