Huge fire scorches swathes of olive trees in South Lebanon town
A huge fire erupted on Tuesday in the outskirts of the Tair Filsay town in South Lebanon, scorching through crop lands and olive groves.

Reasons behind the fire remain unknown but civil defense units rushed to the scene in an effort to extinguish the flames.

Rise in temperatures bring fears over what is left of the country's forests.

Forest fires have become an expected threat that come with the summer. Last May thousands of acres were lost in an ancient forest in Lebanon's Baabda region.

The slow response and inadequate equipment were said to be the main culprit for what was dubbed a great loss.
