Lebanon’s Grand Mufti says Saudi Arabia ‘greatest supporter’ of Arabs

Lebanon’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdel-Latif Derian lauded on Sunday Saudi Arabia’s role in “backing the Lebanese people and standing by the country to uphold its security, unity and stability”.

“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has always been the greatest supporter of its Arab brothers, mainly the Lebanese,” Derian said during talks in KSA with Dr. Abdallah Ben Abdel Mohsen At-Turki, General Secretary of the Muslim World League.

In the same regard, Mufti Derian said he was optimistic about “efforts exerted by [former Lebanese Prime Minister] Saad Hariri in brokering an agreement among the Lebanese parties through dialogue between Hezbollah and the Future Movement so that a new president could be elected”.
