Sami Gemayel calls for protecting women against domestic violence
Following a meeting with a delegation from the Kafa Foundation, the Central Committee Coordinator of the Lebanese Kataeb Party Sami Gemayel said that in 2011 domestic violence is no longer acceptable in Lebanon.

“It is high time for the Lebanese regulations and laws to be the only protectors of Lebanese women who fall victim to such crimes,” Gemayel added.

Gemayel stressed that religion should not be taken as a pretext by some men of the cloth in Lebanon to oppose a draft law submitted to Parliament seeking to end violence against women.

Established in 2005 by a group of multi-disciplinary professionals and human rights activists, KAFA (enough) Violence & Exploitation is a Lebanese non-profit, non-political, non-confessional civil society organization committed to the achievement of gender-equality and non-discrimination, and the advancement of human rights for women and children.
