Mokdad family takes the lead on social media fronts
The Mokdad family started their kidnapping operations through what they called the military wing of the clan after less than 24 hours since the kidnapping of Hassan Mokdad by the Free Syrian Army.

This incident constituted rich material for the activists on social media websites, spreading photos supporting the Mokdad family, others considering the clan as an alternative to Hezbollah and on the other hand photos mocking the military wing of the family.

In less than 14 hours, more than 7000 people joined the page which was created in the name of the clan on Facebook, where they started to write comments supporting the clan’s movement.

The Mokdad clan’s page faced several attacks from other pages supporting the Free Syrian Army such as “Sunnis community news page” and “Damascus coordinating page”.

Consequently, Facebook took the initiative and deleted the page without any warning.

However, on Twitter, comments on the Mokdad Hashtag varied between jokes and condemnations pertaining to the current events, as well as threats sent to the Mokdad family menacing that they will meet the same fate as the Berri's of Aleppo.
