Lebanese Foreign Affairs Ministry issues statement about Ghosn
The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued on Tuesday a statement about ex-boss Carlos Ghosn entering Lebanon.

The statement said that Ghosn “entered Lebanon yesterday dawn legally as the Lebanese General Security confirmed.”

“The circumstances of his departure from Japan and arrival to Beirut are unknown to us, and all news about them is a matter private to him,” the statement added.

In the statement,  the ministry said that that it is important to confirm that Lebanon sent a number of official correspondences to the Japanese government a year ago regarding Carlos Ghosn, which remained unanswered, adding that a complete file about the matter was handed over to the Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister during his visit to Beirut a few days ago.

The Lebanese Foreign Ministry stated that there is no agreement with Japan on judicial cooperation, adding that the two countries have signed the United Nations Agreement On Fighting Corruption, which is the basis that was adopted in the correspondence that Lebanon sent to the Japanese authorities.

The Lebanese Foreign Ministry concluded its statement by affirming Lebanon's keenness on the best relations with the Japanese state.
