Scuffle between LAF and protestors on Jounieh highway

A scuffle has erupted on Jounieh Highway between protesters and Lebanese Armed Forces on Thursday.

Protesters gathered to demand the release of activist Michel Chamoun who was arrested for posting a video online calling President Michel Aoun’s rule a “humiliation”.

This comes just days after Lebanon’s state prosecutor issued an order Monday that decreed suing individuals who posts material specifically on social media that is deemed insulting to the presidency.

Information to LBCI stated that Mount Lebanon’s state prosecutor Judge Ghada Aoun declared that Michel Chamoun would be released on Thursday at 10:00 PM.
