Lebanese-French businessman Ziad Takieddine arrested

Lebanese authorities arrested on Friday Lebanese-French businessman Ziad Takieddine who is considered one of the main witnesses in the case of the Libyan financing of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s presidential campaign, according to a judicial source to AFP agency.

The source added that the Internal Security Forces Information Branch arrested Takieddine as per a cable sent by the Interpol to the Public Prosecutor's Office that includes an arrest warrant, as he is wanted by the French authorities for his involvement in corruption and in the financing of Sarkozy's presidential campaign.
