Berri meets World Bank regional director Saroj Kumar Jha
Speaker Nabih Berri received on Tuesday World Bank regional director Saroj Kumar Jha, where they discussed the projects of the World Bank in Lebanon, including the ration card program.

Following the meeting, Kumar Jha stressed that the World Bank is working on projects and programs in Lebanon, especially in the economic fields and the development of social safety nets, adding that “he agreed with Berri to launch a campaign to encourage registration on the platform for families who can benefit from this program.”

He also said that “the Speaker affirmed that the ratification of recent amendments included in the ration card Law will be ratified in the near future."

"We are looking forward to launching the platform tomorrow, and we hope to provide the necessary financial assistance during this period,” Kumar Jha mentioned.

On another note, Berri met the United Nations Deputy Special Coordinator in Lebanon Najat Rushdie, whereby they tackled the general situation and programs undertaken by the UN in Lebanon.

Later in the day, he also received Cuban Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Pellicer Moraga on a farewell visit to mark the end of his diplomatic missions in Lebanon.
