Rai holds mass on the occasion of Saint Maroun’s Day-[REPORT]
Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai held on Wednesday a mass on the occasion of Saint Maroun’s day, whereby he thanked President Michel Aoun, PM Najib Mikati, and Speaker Nabih Berri for their attendance.

He then said that “on this religious and national occasion, they renew the faith in Lebanon despite the challenges it is facing,” adding that “the Maronites lived through all the conquests, tried various forms of constitutional formulas in Mount Lebanon, knew the pros and cons of each one, and when they became in a position of influence, they chose to belong to the Arab environment.

He also pointed out that they are looking forward to five priorities:

- Holding parliamentary and presidential elections on time

- Announcing the truth about Beirut Port blast

- Accelerating the reform process and the agreement with the IMF

- Completing the implementation of the Taif Agreement, addressing the gaps resulting from it, and seeking the UN assistance to convene an international conference

- And adopting the system of positive neutrality as a basis in the foreign relations
