Economy Minister Salam meets with Turkish Interior Minister in Antalya
Minister of Economy Amin Salam met with Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu who is also the head of the Lebanese-Turkish Joint Committee on the sidelines of the “Antalya Diplomacy Forum,” where they discussed ways to develop bilateral relations in various fields, especially economic and trade.

They also discussed recent regional developments and their implications for Middle Eastern countries, particularly the food security issues that Lebanon faces as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Minister Soylu reiterated to Minister Salam Turkey's unwavering support for Lebanon, especially in light of these exceptional circumstances that the country is going through, revealing to Salam that Turkey will successively send more than 500,000 tons of food aid to Lebanon, including baby formula, flour, sugar, grains and sunflower oil.

Salam, for one, praised Turkey for all of its support for Lebanon and the Lebanese. The two ministers then agreed on a date for the Lebanese-Turkish Joint Committee to convene in Beirut.
