EU chief electoral observer meets with President Aoun

Head of the European Union Election Observation Mission Lebanon 2022 Gyorgy Holvenyi met on Thursday with President Michel Aoun, whereby he stressed that around 200 observers will monitor the elections in Lebanon in a professional, transparent and impartial manner, and that members of the mission will monitor the electoral process in a number of European countries.

 

For his part, Aoun pointed out that arrangements were made to hold the elections on time, and to strengthen supervision of electoral campaign financing, adding that the failure to adopt Mega Centers could reflect a drop in turnout.
