Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdallah Bou Habib continued on Wednesday his visit to Washington, meeting with Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and Appropriations Committee, and Republican Senator Todd Young, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations and Counterterrorism Subcommittee.
Minister Bou Habib was promised that the support package for the Lebanese army and security forces, which is still being debated in the US House of Representatives, would be expedited.
Bou Habib also met with Dr. Mirza Hassan, Dean of the World Bank Group's Board of Executive Directors, and Farid Belhaj, Vice President of the World Bank Group for the Middle East and North Africa, to discuss the progress made on projects supported by the Bank, including those in the electricity and food security sectors, as well as those awaiting House of Representatives approval and the next steps for cooperation and support for Lebanon.
