Fahed to LBCI: Increase in prices coincided with rise of US dollar exchange rate

Vice Chairman Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon Nabil Fahed said on Wednesday that the stance of the economic bodies over the customs dollar was granted to the government months ago.

 

Fahed’s comments were made during an interview with Nharkom Said TV show whereby he said that the increase in prices coincided with the rise in the exchange rate of the US dollar, adding that commodities kept up with this rise,

 

“We worked on a plan to revive the economy and presented it to Caretaker PM Najib Mikati, who indicated that it is exactly the same as the plan approved with the IMF with a few modifications, and if the economy is put on the right track, other sectors will be regulated,” he concluded by saying.
