Hamieh meets a World Bank delegation
Caretaker Public Works Minister Ali Hamieh held a meeting on Monday with a delegation from the World Bank and experts and consultants from the Dutch company Royal Haskoning DHV, which was tasked with putting up a World Bank-funded research on the missions and strategic vision of the Lebanese ports, as well as a plan for the reconstruction of Beirut Port.

Hamieh pointed out that talks focused on preparing a study related to the vision of the Lebanese ports and their missions to integrate with each other, as well as the new framework for the reconstruction of Beirut Port.

He then stressed that after activating the work of the port, they started to prepare for the reconstruction, which helps increase revenues, improve services and find new services through which they can compete with the ports on the eastern Mediterranean coast, declaring that within a week the study that defines the vision for the tasks of the Lebanese ports for a long time will be completed.

Hamieh indicated that at the end of next October, the plan for the reconstruction of Beirut Port will be ready.
