US Embassy in Beirut expands interview waiver eligibility criteria for nonimmigrant visas
The United States Embassy in Beirut announced on Monday the expansion of interview-waiver eligibility criteria for Lebanese citizens renewing B1/B2 tourism and business visas.

The embassy clarified in a statement that Lebanese citizens aged 50 years and older whose B1 / B2 visas have expired within the past 24 months can have an interview exemption, which allows for visa renewal without an interview.

It also mentioned that this is a procedural change to provide a better service and more effective process of tourist and business visa renewals for eligible Lebanese citizens.

Furthermore, the US Embassy indicated that “as required by US law, some eligible visa holders may be required to come to the US Embassy for interviews after submitting their application,” explaining that “if an interview is required, an embassy representative will contact the applicant.
