Lebanon's Caretaker Environment Minister Nasser Yassin stressed that the new year is crucial to save the environmental sector and mitigate the damage, indicating further cooperation between administrations to prevent the complete collapse of the industry.
He pointed out through the Voice of Lebanon that the ministry is currently discussing several matters with international organizations, the European Union and UNIFIL, mainly focusing on essential issues, such as the protection of natural reserves, sewage re-initiation plants, and the waste crisis.
"We are making great efforts, but it is impossible to raise these sectors to an acceptable level and get any real recovery without political stability," he concluded.
