Nasrallah discusses with Hamas and Islamic Jihad leaders steps to stop the attack on Gaza

Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah met with leaders from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Hamas to discuss steps to achieve a "victory for the resistance" and halt the Israeli onslaught on the Gaza Strip, according to a statement by Hezbollah on Wednesday.

The statement did not specify the time and location of the meeting, which brought together Nasrallah, Ziad Nakhaleh, Secretary-General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and Saleh al-Arouri, Deputy Chief of the Political Bureau of Hamas.

The meeting reviewed "recent events in the Gaza Strip since the start of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood," the unprecedented attack launched by Hamas against Israel from land, sea, and air on October 7. In response, Israel has carried out intense airstrikes on the besieged Gaza Strip.

The meeting, as per Hezbollah's statement, involved an evaluation of international and regional positions and what must be done by the resistance axis parties in this critical stage to achieve a real victory for the resistance in Gaza and Palestine and to stop the treacherous and savage aggression.

An agreement was reached to continue coordination and daily monitoring of developments.

The leaders discussed the ongoing border confrontations at the Lebanese borders, which have witnessed exchanges of fire since Hamas's attack, especially between Hezbollah and Israel. Palestinian fighters also attempted multiple infiltrations into Israel.

It appears that the escalation on the Lebanese borders still adheres to the rules of engagement in place between Hezbollah and Israel for the past 16 years. However, experts warn of the possibility of an escalation if Israel launches a ground attack, possibly threatening Gaza.

The escalation has resulted in the deaths of 50 people on the Lebanese side, the majority of whom were Hezbollah fighters, along with four civilians, including a Reuters news agency photographer. At least four people were killed on the Israeli side.
