Al-Arida border crossing reopened after being cut-off by residents

The Arida border crossing was reopened on Wednesday noon after being cut-off by residents since the early morning hours in an attempt to stop Syrian trucks carrying fuel from arriving into Syria.

Protesters had told LBCI that this demonstration was a warning to the government and private companies that are working to provide Syria with fuel.

Earlier, sources told LBCI that residents also warned to block the Abboudieh border crossing to stop fuel trucks from arriving into Syria.

On Monday overnight, the Lebanese Army raised alertness in the Bekaa area to ensure the safety of the trucks taking the international road of Daher Al-Baidar towards the border region of Masnaa.

The trucks were obliged to park on the side of the road during the night only to depart from Taanayel in the morning accompanied by LAF patrols.
