Nehme Mahfoud: Schools to open their doors tomorrow

Head of private school teachers association Nehme Mahfoud announced on Sunday that schools will open their doors as protests will take place every day in the afternoon, and that for the next three weeks.

This decision comes after President Michel Sleiman promised them that the issue of the ranks and salaries series will be discussed during the cabinet session as soon as he returns from his upcoming African tour.

Mahfoud asserted in the press conference that this decision was taken to preserve the best interest of the students, and to prevent them from losing their whole academic year.
Mahfoud stressed that the teachers will return to stage protests in case the ranks and salaries series will be not referred to the Parliament, noting that the official exams will not take place before acquiring their rights.
