Public Works Minister Hamie: Beirut's airport remains fully operational and illuminated through its own generators

The caretaker Public Works and Transport Minister, Ali Hamie, assured via his X account that Beirut's airport remains fully operational and illuminated through its own generators.

Hamie noted that the Energy Minister and the Electricité du Liban (EDL) have promised that the airport will be reconnected to the national power grid tonight.

Minister Hamie emphasized that relying on generators is temporary and not a sustainable solution. He pointed out that using generators is an exception and cannot be continued as a long-term strategy.

Furthermore, he highlighted that Air France has resumed its flights to Beirut, affirming that the airport will continue to be a vital and bustling hub.
