Beirut Airport’s fast-track departure facility project resumes, set to increase passenger capacity by 1 million: Public Works Minister

The work related to the master plan for the fast-track departure facility will be launched from Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport on Tuesday.

"This initiative is part of the ongoing implementation of the vision to enhance and develop services at this vital and important facility in Lebanon," said caretaker Public Works and Transport Minister, Ali Hamie.

According to a video posted by Minister Hamie on X, the new fast-track departure facility is being built, which will increase the terminal's capacity by 1 million passengers.

The construction started in 2018 and was interrupted in 2019. However, work will resume in August 2024, and the target opening date is set within the first quarter of 2025.
