Wireless communication devices (pagers or beepers) used by Hezbollah members explode, causing numerous injuries: Preliminary reports

Preliminary information suggests that wireless communication devices, known as pagers or beepers, used by Hezbollah members exploded. Estimates indicate that the cause may be an Israeli breach. A large number of casualties have been reported.

A Hezbollah official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters that the detonation of the pagers was the "biggest security breach" the group has faced in nearly a year of war with Israel.

Following the recent developments, security sources told Reuters that more than 1,000 people were injured in the explosion of the latest model wireless devices recently acquired by Hezbollah.
