Sleiman Haroun tells LBCI: Hospital sector in danger zone as Israeli strikes put facilities out of service

The Head of Hospital Owners Syndicate Sleiman Haroun, confirmed that the hospital sector is facing serious issues and that "the current situation is cause for concern."

He explained to LBCI that Israel is striking areas around hospitals, putting them out of service.

He pointed out that every hospital that goes out of service creates a burden on another hospital, "which may not have the capacity to handle this burden."

He added: "We have entered a danger zone in the hospital sector."

He added, "For example, we have 19 patients on ventilators at Al-Rassoul Hospital."

Haroun called on the government to find a solution to protect hospitals and their surroundings from Israeli bombardment.

He emphasized that the challenge lies in accommodating patients in intensive care, those needing dialysis, and those requiring ventilators.

He noted that the pressure on hospitals in safe areas has increased due to the influx of displaced persons, stating, "We never imagined that such a large number of displaced individuals, totaling 1.2 million, would emerge."
