Joseph el Helou tells LBCI: Healthcare sector managing the situation, medical supplies will last for months

Dr. Joseph el Helou, the Medical Care Directorate at the Ministry of Public Health, confirmed that Al-Murtada and Saint Therese Hospitals have resumed operations, noting that only three government hospitals and one private hospital remain out of service.

In an interview with LBCI, el Helou stated that the healthcare sector manages the situation, albeit with difficulty, and reassured that "hospitals still operating within the danger zone are functioning."

He indicated that medical supplies were sufficient for three months at the beginning of the conflict, but the current supplies received will last for four months.

El Helou explained that aid is being distributed to hospitals, and mobile clinics are visiting shelters for displaced persons.

He urged cancer patients to call 1214 and dialysis patients to call 1787, acknowledging that "there may be pressure on the lines, but we are facilitating the process."

He confirmed that "between 90 and 95 percent of dialysis patients have had their conditions managed, and we have distributed them among the hospitals."
