Hezbollah's Naim Qassem reaffirms commitment to supporting Palestinian liberation and resistance against Israel

In a statement on Tuesday, Sheikh Naim Qassem, Deputy Secretary-General of Hezbollah, said that Israel and all its allies are trying to pressure the resistance to instill fear.

He stated, "However, we will not be intimidated, as we carry on the legacy of our martyr Secretary-General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, a symbol of resistance."

He added, "A year has passed since the Al-Aqsa Flood, which is an extraordinary event marking the beginning of a change in the face of the Middle East."

Qassem emphasized that the goal of the occupation was to eliminate resistance so that there would be no capability for resistance against Israel, leading to the extermination of the Palestinian people and stripping them of the ability to generate new resistance.

He stated, "What Israel is doing is not fighting; it is the murder of humanity, and this is all supported by open American backing and some European nations. Without this support, the war would have stopped within a month, as Israel is incapable of facing us."

Qassem pointed out that "the Israeli entity has proven that it poses a threat to humanity, Lebanon, and the region."

He also announced the establishment of a support front from Lebanon to alleviate the situation in Gaza during the confrontation and assist it in achieving victory while defending Lebanon and its people, emphasizing that Lebanon is also a target.

Qassem stated that "Iran, Hezbollah, and all others are assisting the Palestinians in liberating their land; this is the battle."

He emphasized that "Israel seeks to impose its policies and orders on the entire region, while Iran has provided clear support to all forms of resistance, which it takes pride in."

Highlighting Lebanon's situation, Qassem noted that "Lebanon has been targeted, and Netanyahu has repeatedly declared his desire for a 'new Middle East.'"

He stressed that "this is not fighting; it is the 'murder of humanity and free peoples,' all supported by open and unchecked American backing from the very beginning."

He pointed out that "all of Israel's attempts in the war against Lebanon aim to kill civilians, destroy residential areas, and create problems between the resistance fighters and the support base, but these attempts have failed."

Qassem affirmed that "we are striking the enemy, expanding our missile and aircraft ranges, and we will target locations at the time we decide according to our plan."

Qassem expressed support for the political efforts led by Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, emphasizing that the main goal is to achieve a ceasefire.

He addressed Netanyahu's claims about wanting to bring settlers back, stating that the reality would be the displacement of even more settlers.

He assured that the leadership and management within Hezbollah are organized and operating effectively, highlighting that they have successfully navigated previous challenges and secured all necessary alternatives.

Qassem mentioned that the election of the Secretary-General will be completed according to the party's organizational procedures and will be announced upon completion.

He reaffirmed the strong partnership between Hezbollah and the Amal Movement, stating that they are united in both good times and bad, expressing full confidence in the leadership of Speaker Berri.

He clarified that any discussions before a ceasefire are not of interest to them, as they are focused on the realities on the ground.
