Israeli army claims it 'eliminated' senior Hezbollah leader Hashem Safieddine: Spokesperson

The Israeli army announced Tuesday that its forces "eliminated" senior Hezbollah leader Hashem Safieddine.

Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee, in a post on X, claimed the "elimination of Hashem Safieddine, head of Hezbollah's executive council."

Hashem Safieddine was widely seen as Hezbollah's assassinated leader Hassan Nasrallah's successor.

However, despite the Israeli claims, Hezbollah has yet to comment on his fate.
