Israel's army claims strikes on alleged Hezbollah weapon smuggling routes in Syria

Israel's army said that it targeted Iranian smuggling routers earlier on Monday, as warplanes carried out airstrikes on Syrian regime transport routes along the Syria-Lebanon border, according to military spokesperson Avichay Adraee.

In a separate post on X, the Israeli army further claimed that these routes, which are managed by Hezbollah’s Unit 4400, "involve storing thousands of missiles and other weapon components in Syrian military warehouses and transferring them through internal crossings."

It alleged that "for decades, Iran has been supplying Hezbollah with weapons through covert smuggling routes via Syria, with the cooperation of Syrian authorities."

The Israeli army also added that it has conducted "extensive operations to disrupt these efforts by targeting key smuggling routes used to arm Hezbollah, preventing future attacks on Israeli civilians. "
