US Ambassador to Lebanon says 'very happy' with election of Joseph Aoun as President

U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon, Lisa Johnson, expressed that she is "very happy" with the election of Lebanese Army Commander Joseph Aoun as president of the country on Thursday, ending a vacancy that lasted for more than two years.

Johnson, along with other foreign diplomats, attended the session on Thursday in the Lebanese Parliament where Aoun was elected.
