President Aoun, Berri 'caught off guard' by Nawaf Salam nominations: Report

Alarabiya.net reported that the Hezbollah-Amal Movement duo "was subjected to a major political deception, as Prime Minister Najib Mikati went to bed as the head of government, only for a major surprise to unfold."

The outlet added that President Joseph Aoun also experienced this unexpected turn, as several blocs and MPs shifted to nominate Nawaf Salam.

According to the report, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, who appeared very displeased during his meeting with President Aoun, commented briefly, saying, "This is not what we agreed upon, and we refuse to accept this as the new reality."
